Traveling with Friends
Remember my notebook, and the big trip I planned out 20 years ago. Well this summer I took the biggest trip to date. We had started planning to travel in December at our yearly Friendsgiving. My girlfriends and I knew we wanted to travel together, but we did not finalize the destination until early March and after we decided we would all love an all-inclusive beach resort. Our main goal was to travel together and to leave our children behind at home. This would be a big trip for all of us since we had never traveled outside the country without our children. We each had talked to other friends and acquaintances all whom had traveled to the Dominican Republic and shared their great experiences while there. Of course, little did we know that the Dominican Republic was going to be on the top headline on every news channel and and every social media feed. Although we knew we did not want to completely cancel the trip, we knew further planning and research was necessary.

The Goal was to take a Vacation
Rerouting the trip!
After lots of phone calls and lots of lists we agreed and rerouted our trip to Costa Rica. I had never traveled outside of the U.S. or Mexico; so this already sounded amazing. This was a big trip and a big milestones for us. I am grateful to have accomplished such a big goal and it has only left me with a bigger thirst to travel more and immerse myself into other cultures. Of course this also means, that on the next trip I plan to bring my boys along. To provide them with the opportunity to learn about other cultures and become immersed in other cultures will bring valuable life lessons.
